Caffé Casa is a budding coffee house local to San Diego and seeks to create a brand identity that reflects its commitment to bold flavors and inviting ambiance. They aim to reflect feelings of warmth and trust, while also staying true to its vibrant roots.
Objective
To develop a comprehensive brand identity for Caffé Casa that encapsulates its essence and values. The goal is to create a memorable logo and tagline that resonates with customers and sets Caffé Casa apart in the competitive cafe market.
Outcome
Caffé Casa successfully establishes its brand identity through a captivating logo design featuring a Italian-style doorway with an espresso being pulled, symbolizing its commitment to quality and authenticity. The tagline "bringing the bold flavors home" embodies Caffé Casa's promise to deliver exceptional coffee experiences.
Designer Role
Designer was hired to lead the creation of the coffee house's inaugural brand identity. Utilizing Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, the designer was able to conceptualized and design a logo and brand elements that captured Caffé Casa's unique personality and values.

Target Audience
Caffé Casa's target audience encompasses coffee enthusiasts and local residents in San Diego, predominantly aged between 18 and 40. This demographic includes young professionals, college students, and tourists, primarily seeking a vibrant and inviting café experience.

Branding Strategy
During ideation, the focus was on incorporating homey / coffee imagery with an Italian influence. Each concepts aims to evoke a sense of familiarity and reliability for customers with the final logo encapsulating the comfort of home and freshly pulled espresso.

Primary Logo
The main logo mark consists of a type treatment wordmark and an arched doorway with espresso pull icon.
The primary logo can be used in any 1-3 colors of the Caffé Casa palette as well as black and white.
Alternate Logo
These alternate brand marks can be used in place of, the full logo to provide flexibility in applications.
Patterns
A selection of brand-approved patterns and graphic elements have been prepared for usage across different applications.
Icons
These icons are best suited for use with familiar parties or where space is limited like as a social media icon, favicon, or merch/swag items.
Fonts
Caffé Casa’s brand typefaces are laid out here.
Secondary typefaces may be brought in for specific campaigns and special usages, but for overall branding purposes, these are the primary typefaces that should be used.
Colors
Caffé Casa’s primary palette consists of 4 main colors: Café Caliente, Madrid Nights, Mocha Espresso, and Cold Foam. These colors will make up at least 75% of the visual design of all Caffé Casa collateral.
These colors can be used in tints and transparencies when it is deemed appropriate.
Finalization
Refined the chosen logo design and tagline for implementation.
Brand Board
The final branding emphasizes feelings of warmth, comfort, and trust. Caffé Casa’s brand board features the both primary and secondary logos, as well as color usage, patterns and icons.
After careful consideration and refinement, the final logo seamlessly integrated elements of home, hospitality, and coffee with an Italian influence.
San Diego’s newest caffé is ready to implement a new brand identity that resonates with their audience.
